Wiggleworms

I visited my mom and Larry in Chicago on Friday and we went to see the Wiggleworms at Millenium Park. It was one of the hottest days this summer, so thanks for being such troopers mom and Larry! It was fun - Ander shook his maracas, clapped and bounced to the music!

We also saw the "Bean" ...

...and caught the bus back home on WABASH!

Ander had a great time and fell fast asleep waiting for the bus. Thanks Mom & Larry!

 

Chicken Check-In

Casa de Arwen

On Friday Ander and I visited Arwen's new house. It was almost 100 degrees, so we were very happy to take a dip in the pool. Tracy, Ethan and Estella dropped by for pizza and we had lots of fun!

Once home, Saturday afternoon we set up a baby pool for Ander. He did not like it as much as

Arwen's pool! So sad...

If I Only Had a Brain...

Our scarecrow seems to be working, judging by the dozens of delicious tomatoes we've been finding in the garden. Ander toured the rest of the yard and checked in on the fruit trees. Those grapes are coming along nicely, and the plums are finally ripe!

That's about as close as Ander got to the prickly Honey Locust trees; they've got thorns over six inches long!

Ander's First Wedding

We took Ander to Cousin Erin's wedding this weekend in Rockford. It was a ton of fun. Great Grandma and Grandpa were there, and Ander got to goof off with Cousins Isabella and Lucy. Congrats Matt and Erin!

It was Grandpa's birthday too! Happy Birthday Grandpa!

Ander's Ribs

We grilled some baby back ribs for dinner last night. Ander's Mom even whipped up some homemade BBQ sauce (SPICY!). It was delicious. Ander even had a piece.

Full of Beans

We picked some green beans from the garden tonight and steamed them. Ander ate them up. They were so tender and sweet that nothing was needed - no butter or seasoning or anything!

First Harvest

Today we were able to pick our first fruit from the garden - cucumbers. They were delicious! Even Ander enjoyed sucking on a slice.

Drive In Movie Night

A few miles up the road, on the edge of a cornfield, stands one of the country's last drive in theaters. The whole family went Sunday night, celebrating the 4th of July with some popcorn under the stars. Fast asleep, Ander didn't make it past the previews.

Happy First Fourth

Ander celebrated his first Fourth of July weekend with cousins Em and Nate. The family drove down for a cookout!

Ander's Dad and Cousin Nate even got to celebrate their birthdays together.
